Catching Up

OK I knew I would do this... Start my blog and never post anything...I don't surprise myself. You know it is sad when you let yourself down...LOL. So let me catch you up on what's going on lately...there have been a lot of things.

May 18th was my mother-in-laws birthday so we took her out to her favorite place. Mexican! The Los Arcos in Gastonia, NC knows us far too well. We all had a great time with each other and we told them it was her birthday so they brought her a sombrero and a dessert that was super tasty. I think she was a little embarrassed...

May 30th I went to Marth'a Wedding in GA. It was beautiful and everyone had so much fun. On the way home we stopped at a rest area and while trying to get a quarter out of my purse I accidentally dropped my precious iPhone. It was very sad ... so sad in fact I couldn't do anything but laugh...the only other option was to cry.
On June 18th and 25th I had a root canal done. This is big for me since it was my first major dental work. I have never had a cavity but now I need a root canal...how weird is that? I was terrified but it actually turned out not being that bad. I was in a lot of pain afterwards for the next week but during the was no pain...just the uncomfortable part of having to hold my mouth open for such a long time. Next to get the crown done...which surprisingly is more expensive than the root canal.
July 3rd, I got all my hair cut off. My very good friend Maria Lineberger just finished Beauty School and is now working right around the street from my house at a salon. She did a great job and I love my new cut. I have NEVER cut my hair this short before and wish i would have. I love my hair and am excited because finally a stylist that gave me exactly what I wanted. Thanks Maria!

July 10th was Mall Maze Madness. We had a class activity which included the 9th - 12th graders in our Sunday School Class. Everyone had so much fun and I must thank the Keever's once again for the idea. We all went to Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC and each team got a set of clues to a store name in the mall. Since that is such a huge mall we had plenty of clues to keep them all busy for a very long time. Thanks to those of you who helped with the activity it was a huge success. Of course the guys didn't do as good as the girls did but I think that's to be expected since us girls are so much smarter and all... j/k everyone! The winners received 15 extra points in our Sunday School contest and tehy received a little bag full of mini candy bars.

The Winners: Samantha Norris, Sharon Parker The Runner's Up: Mary StClair, and Their Leader Mrs. Goad. Sarah Brooks and Leader Cindy Small
Our Group: Josh, Brandon, Clifton, Sharon, Samantha, Sarah, Mary
Our Help: Mark Mills, Mitch Brooks, Shannon Goad, Cindy Small
July 17th, 2009 I had a Movie night at my house. I will have to upload pictures later but we had a great time. All the teens girls going into grades 6th-12th were invited and we had a total of nine girls that came. 8 of them spent the night. We bought Pizza from Papa Johns for dinner and had tons of chips and dip to snack on all night. Arielle and Kyla brought some Brownies which were a big hit! Then we watched Confessions of a Shopaholic followed by Bed Time Stories. Both were very funny and cute. The girls liked them and enjoyed watching them with there friends. I went to bed at 1am while the girls stayed up and talked, ate, played games, and I probably don't want to know what else...LOL. I woke up at 3am to ask them to be a little quieter and to let the dog out. I found out Arielle was the only one sleeping and while she slept the other girls decided to have a pillow fight with her...and she let them. She must be a heavy sleeper! In the morning we had plans to go to the Bus Meeting at the church the next morning and all the girls were going on Bus Routes all day long.
I found out they didn't go to bed until some time after 6am. WOW considering they had to get up at 8am for what was bound to be a very long day. That gives them at the most 2 hrs. of sleep. Surprisingly most of them were in pretty good moods when they got up but I can say that the getting ready process was very quiet...LOL
The next day it was very funny listening to what each of them did once they got home that night. Many took very long naps...LOL other's just watched TV but we all had a great time.
Well that's what's been happening in my world. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone is having a great and wonderful life.
